I tried to buy a bell pepper from a millennial at the farmers market

They normally come two to a bag. I wanted to buy a lone one that had escaped. The owner said to sell it to me. The millennial at the cash register said it was impossible because there was no way to know the price of it. I asked how much the bags of two were. She said $3.95. I said, so, two dollars. She looked skeptical. I looked to another customer to confirm that. He nodded. We both kept looking at her and nodding. She eventually sold me the bell pepper, reluctantly acceding to those who believe you could figure out what half of $3.95 is.
